I’m Hannah Pennant. In my workshop on Walcot Street in Bath I frame paintings, prints, photographs, children’s drawings, embroidery and sports shirts. We choose the moulding together, right next to your piece.

01 · The workshop

How I work

  1. Chosen beside your piece

    You bring the piece to the workshop. We choose the moulding beside it, because next to the picture you can see straight away what suits it.

  2. Cut in the workshop

    I cut the mouldings to size here in the workshop. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests.

  3. Ready in 7 to 10 days

    A frame is usually ready in 7 to 10 days. If you’re in a hurry, I’ll make it in 3 days for £20 extra.

What I frame

  • Bespoke framing

    A4 from £55

    I put together the frame, mount and glass to the size of your painting, print, photograph or child’s drawing.

  • Conservation framing

    UV glass +£25 (A3)

    I use acid-free mount board and UV-filtering glass so the original doesn’t fade.

  • Box frames

    Priced at the workshop

    I frame a shirt, embroidery, textile or an object in a deep box frame.

  • Mirrors

    Gilded moulding +30%

    I frame a mirror in the moulding of your choice; older pieces suit a gilded one.

04 · Materials

Mouldings and glass

The mouldings are made from sustainably sourced wood and I cut them to size in the workshop.

  • Natural oak

    Warm and calm, goes with everything.

  • Black ash

    For drawings and photographs.

  • White painted

    For modern prints.

  • Gilded

    For old paintings and mirrors.

Mount

None, single or double. A mount holds the piece a little away from the glass.

Glass

Standard, UV conservation so the original doesn’t fade, or anti-reflective with fewer reflections.

What people ask

Do I have to bring the piece in person?

Yes. That way we choose the moulding right beside it.

Do you frame large formats too?

Yes, up to 120 × 90 cm.

Can you replace just the glass?

Yes.

Will you hang the picture in my home?

In Bath, yes, for £30.
